This is the fifth World Poetry Day Recital organised by Moray House Trust. As is customary, we received submissions from various parts of Guyana, the Caribbean and the diaspora. We are immensely grateful to the readers and the poets who participated and regret that, due to the volume of submissions, it was not possible to include every poem that was submitted.
At some level, poems are postcards from the psyche – the individual psyche and the collective psyche. As you listen to this recital, note the recurrence of certain themes – of ancestors, of innocence, of purity.
