Host: Moray House Trust
Date: Tuesday 14th June 2016
Moray House Trust hosted ‘Walter Rodney Lives’, a symposium to commemorate thirty-six years of Dr Rodney’s transition and to examine his legacy as pioneering and radical scholar, activist and change agent in our society and beyond.
Moray House Trust extends thanks to Nadia Sagar who co-ordinated the event and spoke briefly at the beginning. Elsie Harry was the moderator and participants included youth advocate Norwell Hinds, Tacuma Ogunseye, Karen De Souza (who read extracts from Walter’s writing and speeches), Dr. David Hinds, Desmond Ali and Sara Bharrat. Desmond Ali also exhibited sculptures and paintings inspired by Walter Rodney. Our sincere thanks to all who participated and to those who attended.
