We invited the audience to join us via Zoom, under the shade of a metaphorical samaan tree, to hear a short talk by Stanley Greaves entitled ‘Visual Education and Art Education: a comparison.’ This is the third session in a new series, the Samaan Tree Series, organised by the Trust and aimed at those with curious minds and a little free time during the day. We are hosting taster sessions fortnightly for the next few months and will assess how best to proceed in the new year. Stanley Greaves inaugurated the series with a talk titled ‘Looking as Awareness’. This talk continued themes raised in ‘Looking’ such as the importance of learning how to look, just as we learn how to read or how to write.
