Described many years ago by a friend and contemporary as a ‘polymathic artist – painter, sculptor, potter and musician’, Stanley Greaves does not consider himself a poet. He composes what he calls ‘pomes’. This recital draws on work from Horizons (2002), The Poems Man (2009) and Haiku (2015). Martin Carter’s influence – as friend, poet and person – looms large in this selection and in Stanley’s oeuvre in general.
The recital lasted about half an hour and Stanley answered questions afterwards.
