The Knowledge Underground convened once more to explore a few more of TIME Magazines 100 Ideas that changed the world. This month’s contributors were Gabriel Lall, Ellie Price and Bert Carter.

Idea No 34: The Magna Carta.
Gabriel Lall talked about the Magna Carta. GHK Lall returned home after living overseas for 30 years. He has four degrees and has written four books. He has worked on Wall Street for over 20 years in capacities ranging from junior to principal. He is currently involved in volunteer work as a teacher, and does Hospice visits to the terminally ill. He is also working on books 5 and 6 at this time.

Idea No: 54: Free Trade
Ellie Price made her presentation on the idea of Free Trade. Ellie studied Economics at Edinburgh University (MA) and University College London (Msc). She lived in China for several years and taught economics in Norway. She currently works as an Economist in the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce. This mainly involves analysing the Guyanese private sector. She is an advocate for economic methodology because it applies rigorous analytical tools to solving some of the biggest questions in society.

Idea No 19: The Roman Arch

Bert Carter talked about the Roman Arch. Bert Carter graduated as a Civil Engineer in 1967 and returned to Guyana from England in 1969 with a post Graduate Diploma in Highway and Traffic Engineering, and an M.Sc. degree in Transportation and Environmental Planning. He worked with the Mayor and City Council of Georgetown as an Assistant City Engineer until 1973.
