Moray House Trust was honoured to host a recital by Stanley Greaves from his most recent volume of poetry, Haiku. In this collection, he adopts a format based on the three-line 17 syllable Japanese format and celebrates the ‘spareness of words’ this format enforces.

As Stanley explained, “Haiku is very much related to my paintings because of the high visual content of the first two lines. They relate to my own view of the “primacy of the eye”, learning through the eye as taking precedence over verbal language”.
