Everard im Thurn was a British colonial administrator who spent about 15 years in British Guiana from the mid-1870s. During this time, he served (initially) as Curator at the museum, undertook expeditions to Kaieteur and Roraima and collected information about and artefacts from the indigenous communities among whom he worked and travelled. He also started the journal Timehri. The talk will focus on some of these highlights, drawing on his own writings where possible. This talk continues the Eyewitness Series.

Catering will be provided by Homemade with Love.
